This paper shows the importance of teaching children traditional language games and how this affects their speech development, vocabulary enrichment and learning about the importance of preserving tradition. Play is an activity that children enjoy and love and it is through play that children enrich existing knowledge that can be observed through the overall development of each child. In addition, playful communication enables children to learn and acquire language by listening to other children and adults. Preserving and promoting traditional language games is important to preserve the heritage and ensure that the tradition continues into the future. Examples of games give a closer look at the traditional language games in the area of Slavonian Boat. Examples are counters, mockers and cradlesongs. Speech development in preschool children should also be monitored by quality examples, especially taking into account the speed of development in preschool age. The main purpose and goal of this work is to present children's traditional language songs and games and to question their importance in the context of children's holistic, and especially linguistic development. Ultimately, children's traditional language games represent a fun and interactive way to encourage the overall development of children's speech, while maintaining and promoting the value of cultural heritage.
