Sažetak (engleski) | In the last few years, there has been a lot of talk about the progress of digital technology, which is expanding rapidly, and with its development and influence on humanity, digital technology has taken hold also the youngest and most sensitive group of children. Too frequent exposure and use of screens, digital technology leads to the development of dependence on screens, so it is increasingly being talked about to the problem called screenism. Screenism, apart from its positive sides, has many negative consequences on the children's development, including socio - emotional development, speaking-linguistic development and psychological development, and a key period in which a child can be prone to the development of difficulties in the mentioned areas of development is between the first and third years of life. We are surrounded by media, almost every household owns several different devices of digital technologies and we can safely say that the media have become an indispensable part of our everyday life. Today, it is almost unimaginable to grow up and develop as an individual without the media and digital technologies. However, knowledge of media literacy, proper education and awareness of parents, educators and all participants in the educational process, can have a significant impact on the appropriate use of digital technology devices and to reduce harmful and negative effects, both on society as a whole and on each individual. Taking into account all of the above, and in for the purpose of creating this thesis, a survey was conducted among parents with the aim of insight into how much time their children spend in front of the screens of digital devices and how and in what way screens affect their overall development. Screens and digital technology indeed they change our life, but it is up to us to decide in which direction they will lead us, positive or negative. The question arises as to what kind of future awaits the youngest generation of whose children growing up and education today are mostly influenced by the media and the environment. Is the media a threat to our way of life and what are its benefits? How and in what way adults (parents, educators, teachers, etc.) can mitigate harm, and how to expand the possibilities of the digital world to be useful every child? |
