Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is a perennial herbaceous plant with an edible tuber. It originates from the Peruvian Andes and was introduced to Europe in the 16th century. It occupies an important place in the agronomic literature, with research on morphology, cultivation and global significance. Various factors that affect the growth and development of potatoes, such as temperature, water, soil and light, are crucial for cultivation and research include analysis of the environment where it is grown and protection against pests and diseases. Thesis includes description of the root system, stem and flower. It includes a theoretical presentation of pests (worm, weevil, potato blight), diseases (potato mold, dry spotting of leaves) and weeds (wild sorghum, ragweed), providing insight into crop protection and conservation measures, highlighting fertilization as a key factor for maintenance soil fertility and achieving high yields. Thesis describes agrotechnical measures of potato production at family farm Lović from Gornja Bebrina in 2024 with emphasizing key aspects of potato cultivation, including selection of suitable soil, crop rotation, tillage, sowing and crop protection and care.
