Abstract
Biopolimerni materijali su materijali pred koje se postavljaju velika očekivanja. Razvojem biorazgradivih polimernih materijala i sve većom zastupljenošću takvih proizvoda na tržištu očekuje se pozitivan učinak na smanjenje potrošnje energije, zagađenje ekosustava i očuvanje resursa iz neobnovljivih izvora. U radu su prikazani predstavnici prirodnih i sintetskih biorazgradivih polimera koji nastaju proizvodnjom iz obnovljivih i neobnovljivih izvora sa svojim svojstvima i karakterističnim područjima primjene. Bioplastika kao i svaki drugi materijal ima svoje prednosti i nedostatke ali trenutno se pokazuje kao potencijalno moguće rješenje globalnog problema nakupljanja plastičnog otpada u okolišu.
Abstract (english)
Biopolymers are materials with high expectations. The development of biodegradable polymeric materials is expected to have a positive effect on reducing energy consumption, ecosystem pollution and conserving resources from non-renewable sources. The paper presents representatives of natural and synthetic biodegradable polymers that are produced by production from renewable and non - renewable sources with their properties and characteristic areas of application. Bioplastics like any other material has its advantages and disadvantages but is currently proving to be a potentially possible solution to the global problem of plastic waste accumulation in the environment.
