Abstract
U sklopu ovog završnog rada predstavljeni su polimerni materijali, opisan je polietilen i njegova svojstva, potom njegova primjena u vojnoj industriji. Navedeni su balistički materijali u trenutačnoj primjeni za suvremene neprobojne prsluke zatim objašnjen i predočen njihov mehanizam zaustavljanja projektila. Mehanička su svojstva izabranih materijala analizirana te pojedinačno uspoređena sa svojstvima Dyneema SK76 PE-UHMW vlakana. Na kraju je dan zaključak provedenih analiza.
Abstract (english)
In this undergraduate thesis, it was required to present polymer materials, describe polyethylene and its properties, then its role in the military industry. Ballistic materials currently in use for bulletproof vests are listed, followed by an explanation and a graphical representation of their mechanisms for defeating projectiles. Mechanical properties of selected materials are analysed and separately compared to the properties of Dyneema SK76 PE-UHMW fibres. At the end, conclusions are made on the basis of the conducted analyses.
