Abstract
Abstract (english)
The use of the finite element method in mechanical engineering is very widespread. The finite element method is an indispensable tool to save time and resources, but also for the construction of long lasting and reliable construction.
In the first part of the paper, certain basic knowledge about conducting collision tests is presented. The division into types of collision tests and methods of measuring dimensions during the test are explained. In a separate chapter, details of the vehicle model on which the collision test is performed are presented, and display of experimental results.
In the main part of the paper, a numerical calculation of the collision was performed using the finite element method. The procedure of conducting the simulation and defining the essential data for conducting the simulation are presented.
A comparison of the numerical simulation with the actual vehicle test was then performed based on the available experimental data. This determines the reliability of the numerical model and the possibility of conducting these types of simulations using the finite element method, after confirming the reliability of the numerical model, additional numerical simulations can be performed(for example optimizing the car body).
