Abstract
Ukrasne biljke mogu sadržavati otrovne tvari opasne po zdravlje i život ljudi i životinja. Otrovne tvari u ukrasnim biljkama su prirodni spojevi, kao što su alkaloidi, glikozidi, saponini, eterična ulja i druge kemikalije koje služe kao obrambeni mehanizam biljaka. Prepoznavanje otrovnih ukrasnih biljaka postaje od iznimne važnosti kako bi se izbjegli slučajevi neželjenog izlaganja tim opasnim tvarima. Ukrasne vrste treba pažljivo odabirati vodeći računa o namjeni vanjskog ili unutarnjeg prostora u kojemu će ove biljke rasti. Cilj završnog rada je opisati otrovne ukrasne biljke koje su česte u našem okruženju i ukazati na opasnosti koje one mogu predstavljati.
Abstract (english)
Ornamental plants can contain toxic substances dangerous to the health and life of humans and animals. Toxic substances in ornamental plants are natural compounds, such as alkaloids, glycosides, saponins, essential oils, and other chemicals that serve as the defense mechanism of plants. Recognition of poisonous ornamental plants is becoming extremely important to avoid cases of unwanted exposure to these hazardous substances. Ornamental species should be carefully selected taking into account the purpose of the outer or inner space in which these plants will grow. The aim of the final work is to describe poisonous ornamental plants that are common in our environment and to point out the dangers that they can pose.
