Abstract
Budući da je tehnologija tu da ostane i brojni mladi diljem svijeta vole društvene medije, potrebno je pozabaviti se problemima u komunikaciji zbog društvenih medija. Društvene mreže pružaju mladima neviđene razine povezanosti, ali oni provode mnogo vremena na internetu i ne poznaju društvo bez telefona, što utječe na njihovu komunikaciju u stvarnom životu. Suvremeni mladi imaju problema s komunikacijom zbog društvenih medija jer ne eksperimentiraju, isprobavaju vještine i ne uspijevaju u mnoštvu iskustava u stvarnom vremenu koja današnja djeca propuštaju. U osnovnoj komunikaciji ljudi dobivaju trenutnu povratnu informaciju kada govore. Brzo saznaju je li ono što su rekli bilo dobro prihvaćeno, uvredljivo, smiješno ili zbunjujuće na temelju toga kako ljudi reagiraju. Međutim, u svijetu slanja poruka i e-pošte, čovjek može sjediti i razmišljati prije nego što odgovori. Iako mlade društveni mediji povezuju, oslanjanje na njih za društvenu vezu uči ih nekim ozbiljnim komunikacijskim problemima. Stoga su društvene mreže danas uvelike postale mladima virtualno mjesto za nerealno prikazivanje stvarnog života i komunikacije koja nije onakva kakva bi trebala biti u realnosti.
Abstract (english)
Since technology is here to stay and many young people around the world love social media, communication problems due to social media need to be addressed. Social networks provide young people with unprecedented levels of connectivity, but they spend a lot of time online and don't know society without a phone, which affects how they communicate in real life. Today's youth have communication problems because of social media because they are not experimenting, trying out skills, and failing in the multitude of real-time experiences that today's kids are missing out on. In basic communication, people get immediate feedback when they speak. They quickly find out if what they said was well received, offensive, funny or confusing based on how people react. However, in the world of texting and emailing, one can sit and think before replying. Although social media connects young people, relying on it for social connection teaches them some serious communication issues. Therefore, social networks today have largely become a virtual place for young people to unrealistically portray real life and communication that is not the way it should be in reality.
