Abstract (english) The aim of this paper was to determine the attitudes of parents of children who attend horse-assisted therapy or horse-assisted activities. The survey was completed by parents whose children attend therapy or activities using horses. Some of the factors that were considered were: frequency of visits to activities or therapies using horses, indications for starting therapy or activities using horses, on the basis of which they started therapies or activities using horses, in which area of development the parent sees the greatest progress in the child, whether the child is involved in other therapies, parents' expectations of activities or therapy using horses, what are the effects of therapy or activities using horses and what they have brought to the child as well as the family and the environment. The research was conducted in the Don Kihot association, which deals with therapies and activities using horses, where, most often, parents filled out the survey. One survey was completed by the user's wife, and the total sample is 31 parents whose children attended therapy or activities using horses between the ages of 3 and 32. The survey was given to the parents (and the wife) when bringing the child to therapy and was filled out during therapy or activities using horses. In the theoretical part of the work, concepts closely related to therapy and activity with the help of horses are explained, as well as references to previous research.
This research confirmed both hypotheses that were set at the beginning of the research was confirmed that therapies or activities using horses have a positive effect on physical and psychomotor development and that changes in behavior are visible after continuous attendance of therapy or activities using horses. Also, the results show that parents are not aware of the dangers when performing therapies or activities using horses, such as falling off a horse.
