Abstract
Schengenski sporazum je nastao kao mehanizam za olakšavanje kretanja ljudi i roba u zemljama koje provode schengensku politiku. S godinama se proširivao i poboljšavao svoju učinkovitost. Danas Schengen broji 26 zemalja koje provode politiku bez graničnih kontrola na granicama potpisnica Schengenskog sporazuma. Ključ provedbe ove politike je Zakonik o schengenskim granicama, koji uz ostale propise i prava štiti vanjske granice Schengena, sigurnost i slobodu kretanja unutar granica Schengena. Zakonik o schengenskim granicama provode nadležna tijela u zemljama članicama. Nadležno tijelo u Republici Hrvatskoj je Ministarstvo unutarnjih poslova RH, koje zadaće u sklopu Ministarstva provodi granična policija uz potporu Europske unije.
Abstract (english)
The Schengen Agreement was created as a mechanism to facilitate the movement of people and goods in Schengen countries. Over the years, it has expanded and improved its efficiency. Today, Schengen has 26 countries that implemented policies without border controls at the border of the signatories of the Schengen agreement. The key to the implementation of this policy is the Schengen Borders Code, which, among other regulations and rights, protects the external Schengen borders, security and freedom of movement within Schengen borders. The Schengen Borders Code is implemented by the compentent authorities in the member state. The competent authority in the Republic of Croatia is the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, whose tasks within the Ministry are carried out by the border police with the support of the European Union.
