Abstract
1944. godine nakon velikih ratnih razaranja Europe Drugim svjetskim ratom, osnovana je Svjetska banka kako bi pomogla pri obnovi i oporavku europskih zemalja. Danas broji preko stotinu država u kojima djeluje. U proteklim godinama velike su se promjene događale u svim sektorima gospodarstva, tako je Svjetska banka u tim razdobljima pomagala zemljama članicama u njihovom razvoju kako bi se što prije prilagodile promjenama. Kako bi smanjila siromaštvo te povećala napredak Svjetska banka nudi zajmove, razne političke i ekonomske savjete te svoja znanja. Svjetska banka danas se ubraja kao jedna od vodećih izvora financiranja u svijetu. Često se nalazi na meti kritika zbog raznih projekata koji onečišćuju okoliš i ugrožavaju stanovništvo. Programi, razni projekti i određena ulaganja obuhvaćaju sve vrste gospodarskih sektora koje su državama vrlo važne u daljnjem napretku te su im od velike važnosti. U ovom završnom radu želi se prikazati prednosti Svjetske banke, ne samo za svijet, nego i za Republiku Hrvatsku.
Abstract (english)
In 1944, after the great devastation of Europe by World War II, the World Bank was established to help rebuild and recover European countries. Today it has over a hundred states in which it operates. In recent years, major changes have taken place in all sectors of the economy, so the World Bank in those periods helped member countries in their development to adapt to change as soon as possible. To reduce poverty and increase progress, the World Bank offers loans, various political and economic advice, and its own knowledge. Today, the World Bank is one of the leading sources of financing in the world. It is often the target of criticism for various projects that pollute the environment and endanger the population. Programs, various projects and certain investments cover all types of economic sectors that are very important for countries in their further progress and are of great importance to them. This final paper aims to present the advantages of the World Bank, not only for the world, but also for the Republic of Croatia
