Abstract Temperament djeteta, definiran kao urođeni skup emocionalnih i reaktivnih karakteristika, predstavlja sastavni čimbenik u socio-emocionalnom razvoju tijekom rane i predškolske dobi. Kroz interakcije s roditeljima, vršnjacima i drugim autoritetima u okruženju, djeca uče ključne socio-emocionalne vještine poput empatije, samokontrole, suradnje i rješavanja problema.
Djeca s većom emocionalnom stabilnošću često lakše upravljaju stresom i frustracijom, dok djeca s većom reaktivnošću mogu trebati dodatnu podršku u razvoju strategija za emocionalnu regulaciju.
Rezultati istraživanja mogu pomoći u prepoznavanju individualnih razlika u temperamentu djeteta i prilagodbi pristupa odgoja i obrazovanja. Cilj je pružiti smjernice za roditelje, odgojitelje i stručnjake koje će potaknuti optimalan socio-emocionalni razvoj svakog djeteta, osiguravajući dugoročno emocionalno zdravlje i uspješnost.
Abstract (english) Child temperament, defined as an innate set of emotional and reactive characteristics, is a crucial factor in socio-emotional development during early childhood. Each child brings a unique combination of temperament traits that influence how they perceive and react to their environment. For example, extraverted children often show a preference for social interactions and activities, whereas introverted children tend to lean towards solitary or deeper thinking. Through interactions with parents, peers, and other authority figures in their environment, children learn essential socio-emotional skills such as empathy, self-control, cooperation, and problem-solving. These processes are fundamental for developing emotional intelligence and social competence, crucial for a child's successful integration into broader social communities. Different aspects of temperament, such as emotional stability or reactivity to changes, can affect a child's ability to regulate their emotions and adapt to new situations. Children with greater emotional stability often manage stress and frustration more easily, while those with higher reactivity may need additional support in developing strategies for emotional regulation.
Understanding and timely recognizing individual differences in temperament enables parents, educators, and professionals to adjust their approaches and support systems to foster optimal development for each child. This approach is not only critical for addressing immediate challenges in childhood but also for long-term emotional health and success in later years.
The aim of this work is to determine the views of parents on the influence of a child's temperament on his emotional development with special emphasis on emotional stability and reactivity. The results of the research can help in recognizing individual differences in the child's temperament and adapting the approach to upbringing and education. The goal is to provide guidelines for parents, educators and professionals that will encourage the optimal socio-emotional development of each child, ensuring long-term emotional health and success
