Abstract Temeljna uloga ranoga i predškolskoga odgoja i obrazovanja jest potpun i skladan razvoj djetetove osobnosti.

The goal of this thesis was to introduce children to quality music and to explore what kind of experience music will have on children. The research participants were children who attend Happy Land half-day and full-day care from Đakovo. The research was conducted using the method of structured observation. All work methods and procedures were recorded in the monitoring form, and the activity manager also kept a work diary. The research lasted three days. A total of six activities were conducted with children, all of which were recorded with a video device. The results showed that children react better to music during active listening and that there is no difference in the music reception when it comes to the gender of the child. This research can provide insight into how children react to selected music and why it is important to carefully choose the music for children in kindergartens. The results will be useful for further research on children's reception of music.
