Abstract Bosiljak (Ocimum basilicum L.) pripada rodu biljaka iz porodice usnača (Lamiaceae). Nije zahtjevna biljka što se tiče uzgoja, stoga može uspjeti u gotovo svakom tlu, no podrazumijeva se da je potrebno osigurati joj dobre uvjete za rast i razvoj. Može se uzgajati izravno u tlu ili u posudama. Cilj istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj uzgojnog medija na rast i razvoj bosiljka. Praćena je razlika u rastu i razvoju bosiljka u četiri različita uzgojna medija; supstrat Potgrond H, kokosova vlakna, supstrat Potgrond H + kokosova vlakna i tlo + kokosova vlakna. Pokus je postavljen s 80 posuda promjera 20 cm u četiri varijante po 20 biljaka; dvadeset posuda ispunjeno je s kokosovim vlaknima, dvadeset posuda sa supstratom Potgrond H, dvadeset posuda u kombinaciji supstrat Potgrond H s tlom i dvadeset posuda u kombinaciji supstrat Potgrond H i kokosova vlakna. Pokus je praćen u razdoblju od 22.03.2022. do 02.06.2022. Tijekom tog perioda promatrana je dinamika rasta i razvoja biljaka u navedenim medijima. Na kraju istraživanja kod svih biljaka izmjerene su: duljina nadzemnog dijela biljaka, duljina korijena, promjer biljaka, broj listova, broj nodija, masa svježeg nadzemnog dijela biljke i masa osušenog nadzemnog dijela. Dobiveni rezultati praćenja rasta i razvoja bosiljka u različitim uzgojnim medijima pokazali su da su najbolji rezultat što se tiče prosječne duljine nadzemnog dijela ostvarile biljke uzgojene u kombinaciji supstrat-kokosova vlakna i da je najveća prosječna duljina korijena utvrđena kod biljaka uzgojenih u kokosovim vlaknima dok je u svim ostalim mjerenim parametrima najbolji rezultat postignut kod biljaka uzgojenih u kombinaciji supstrata Potgrond H i kokosovih vlakana.
Abstract (english) Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) belongs to the genus of plants from the family of Lamiaceae. It is not a demanding plant when it comes to cultivation, so it can succeed in almost any soil, but it goes without saying that it is necessary to provide it with good conditions for growth and development. It can be grown directly in the soil or in containers. The aim of the research was to determine the influence of the growing medium on the growth and development of basil. The difference in the growth and development of basil in four different growing media was monitored; substrate Potgrond H, coconut fibers, substrate Potgrond H + coconut fibers and soil + coconut fibers. The experiment was set up with 80 containers with a Nikolina Hodak: Utjecaj uzgojnog medija na rast i razvoj bosiljka (Ocimum basilicum L.) V diameter of 20 cm in four variants of 20 plants each; twenty containers were filled with coconut fibers, twenty containers with Potgrond H substrate, twenty containers with a combination of Potgrond H substrate with soil and twenty containers with a combination of Potgrond H substrate and coconut fibers. The experiment was monitored in the period from March 22, 2022. until June 02,2022. During that period, the dynamics of growth and development of plants in the mentioned media were observed. At the end of the research, all plants were measured: the length of the aerial part of the plants, the length of the roots, the diameter of the plants, the number of leaves, the number of nodes, the mass of the fresh aerial part of the plant and the mass of the dried aerial part. The obtained results of monitoring the growth and development of basil in different growing media showed that the best result in terms of the average length of the above-ground part was achieved by plants grown in a substrate-coconut fiber combination and that the highest average root length was found in plants grown in coconut fibers, while in for all other measured parameters, the best result was achieved in plants grown in a combination of the substrate Potgrond H and coconut fibers.
