Through the development of new technology in the market, newer more complex, personalized and often smarter production occurs. In order to successfully carry out the process of producing new products, but on the other hand also to increase the production efficiency of current ones, the company must adapt its efforts to new working conditions and new environments. Special emphasis through the paper will be placed on the concept of industry 4.0 where it seeks to digitize the business through artificial intelligence, virtual real, augmented reality, managing large amounts of data, the Internet thing and the like. Digitization and digital transformation are quite similar terms, but differ in meaning. Such processes are increasingly present in the business world. Digitization is considered to convert analog processes into digital ones. Business digitization includes changes that will require companies to have prepared strategies and a clear goal of operation. It is a very demanding job in which various processes are involved and which requires the cooperation of all employees, in order to digitize the business in the best possible way implemented in the company. Through the work, efforts will be made to show the progress of the digital business of the company, it will also show how the smart factory works, and a certain overview of progress in the Republic of Croatia will be given.
