Abstract
Čovjek kao socijalno biće oduvijek komunicira i tako iznosi svoje želje, potrebe i osjećaje. Zašto je netko bolji govornik od drugog i lakše postiže željeni cilj? Odgovor na to pitanje leži u govorništvu. Nekima je to urođena vještina, ali još su stari Grci pokazali da se govorništvo može naučiti i publiku koja ih sluša uvjeriti u svoje stavove, razmišljanja, pokrenuti na djelovanje koje govornik priželjkuje. Nikako ovu vještinu ne bi trebalo koristiti za obmanu i prevare. Govorništvo i javni govor, osim što je sačinjeno od nekoliko komponenti, odlikuje ih i neverbalna komponenta koja bi uvijek trebala podupirati izgovoreno. Ponekad, uslijed treme i straha, verbalna i neverbalna komponenta javnog govora se ne podudaraju, ali i to je vještina koja se uči.
Abstract (english)
As a social being, man always communicates and thus expresses his wishes, needs and feelings. Why is someone a better speaker than another and achieves the desired goal more easily? The answer to that question lies in oratory. For some, it is an innate skill, but even the ancient Greeks showed that public speaking can be learned and the audience that listens to them can be convinced of their views, thoughts, and moved to action that the speaker desires. By no means should this skill be used for deception and fraud. Oratory and public speaking, apart from being made up of several components, are characterized by a non-verbal component that should always support what is spoken. Sometimes, due to stage fright and fear, the verbal and non-verbal components of public speaking do not match, but this is also a learned skill.
