Abstract (english) | Ethics is of key importance in business. It deals with the internal values that are part of the company and determines the rules of good and bad behavior. In order for the company to survive, it needs to have a good reputation, a reliable partner, and conduct business according to business ethics. Business ethics was developed at the end of the 60s of the 20th century, but it was increasingly talked about in the 80s of the 20th century. Business ethics affect the success and profit of the company, and bring benefits for the future. Banks are important financial intermediaries of the modern economy. Respecting the bank is one of the basic laws when working in a bank, as well as a moral issue in order to make the right decisions every day. The business ethics of banks is based on loyalty, honesty, professionalism towards the client, other shares, and employees.
The objectives of the business principles are guided by clear principles that must be respected. Every organization has a code of conduct, that is, a rulebook on professional and ethical behavior. By working according to the rulebook, internal and external guidelines, we achieve harmony in the organization. Maintaining a code of business conduct and ethics in banks is of key interest to banks, regulators, employees and clients. Each employee goes through a record of standards of business conduct, where his signature obligates him to adhere to them.
Banks consciously or unconsciously affect the environment with their activities. In order to become the best and win clients, they pay a lot of attention to socially responsible business. This term began in the 1970s, but today, when we are witnessing more and more environmental pollution, global warming, uncontrolled waste, consumption of energy, water and other issues, there is increasing pressure from the public who are socially and ecologically aware, and choose banks where their mark is left for a better future and to contribute to their community.
The aim of this paper is to empirically investigate business ethics on the example of PBZ, HPB, OTP banks. The research will show the attitude of banks towards employees, towards clients, towards shareholders and the rules that every bank and banker should follow in order to be successful in the future and have a good reputation. |
