In today's world, it is evident that a large number of former developing countries have transformed into countries with strong economies. Countries that already had a developed economy became even more powerful than before. Today, it is of great importance for countries to constantly invest in knowledge, technology, research, and development because otherwise, they begin to lag behind others and fall out of the market game. But what about those countries that refused or for certain reasons could not open up to globalization? Although globalization has many economic and trade advantages for developing countries, it has extremely negative consequences for poor countries. It is increasingly clear that the inequality between the rich and the poor is growing. Today, there is no hiding concern about the negative consequences of globalization, which enables faster growth in stronger economies, but leaves great damage to the environment and the population of underdeveloped countries, where poverty and misery reign. This paper analyzes whether greater openness to globalization can contribute to the well-being of the state and reveals how the analyzed states that are open to globalization achieved this compared to those that resisted globalization.
